Inmate taken to hospital after being stabbed multiple times

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Deputies with the Richland County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report of a stabbing at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.

Deputies say the stabbed inmate was taken to a nearby hospital with numerous puncture wounds to his upper body.

Also, deputies say they learned that the stabbing happened during a physical altercation between inmates.

The incident is still being investigated.
