Local Living: Festival on the Avenue, Germany’s Great Bavarian Circus, Accessibility morning at state museum, Gamecocks’ parade

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– In today’s look at Local Living, the annual Festival on the Avenue kicks off today in Sumter County.

Now through Saturday, you and your family can enjoy heritage night at Mount Zion Enrichment Center, the annual golf tournament at Crystal Lakes and the annual parade followed by a large street party.

 

You can take the family to Germany’s Great Bavarian Circus this month.

The next show is tonight at 7 p.m. at the state fairgrounds.

You can enjoy some cute dog tricks, juggling, acrobatics and so much more.

It runs through Sunday, April 21.

 

The South Carolina State Museum is planning an accessibility morning this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Guests who are neurodiverse or have other disabilities will have the morning to explore the museum for free.

Guests may meet a character from the Lorax for a special book reading and experience a sensory-friendly showing in the museum’s 4D theater.

The City of Columbia will host the Gamecocks Women’s Basketball National Championship parade this Sunday at 2 p.m.

Parking will be available at the city parking garages at no charge.

And there are some road closures you will need to know about.

The 1200 block of Main Street through the 1700 block will be closed on Sunday at 12 p.m.
