Coroner identifies person hit by vehicle on I-77

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Fairfield County Coroner Chris Hill is releasing the name of the victim who was killed after a collision that happened over night on I-77, says the coroner’s office.

Felix Jose Zayas Hernandez, 45, of Fort Mill was hit by a vehicle that was traveling southbound in I-77 while he was walking in the interstate lanes.

Autopsy will be scheduled with Newberry Pathology to determine the exact cause of death, says the coroner’s office.

The collision is still being investigating by the Fairfield County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
