Get involved in United Way’s Volunteer Week April 21st-27th
COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)- April is National Volunteer Month and next week kicks off National Volunteer Week. The United Way of the Midlands is using the week to highlight the idea that one person can make a difference, but when we come together, we can create real and lasting change.
From April 21st to April 27th, local nonprofits and community organizations will host volunteers opportunities to help give back. Opportunities include The Salvation Army, Senior Resources, Meals on Wheels, Pals, and many others!
Noah Weathersby, United Way’s Community Engagement Manager says the goal with this week is to encourage people to get involved in something they’re passionate about, and creating life long volunteers through the process. “Last year alone we had over 350 people volunteering in the Midlands, which is amazing, and this year we’re hoping to beat that. It gets a lot of people involved that may not have known about certain agencies.”
