Many Americans with student loans delay life events

(CNN)– A new report reveals many Americans with student loans are being forced to pause major life events.

That’s according to the latest Gallup Lumina Foundation cost of college report.

It found 71% of student loan borrowers delayed milestones including buying a house, buying cars, moving out of their parent’s house or getting married.

One in three U.S. students currently enrolled in college or post high-school programs said they have considered stopping their course work in the past six months.

31% blamed the cost.
