Local Living: Harambee Festival, Doko Championship Rodeo, Sweet Potato Festival

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)–In today’s look at Local Living, Benedict College is hosting their 35th annual Harambee Festival this weekend.

You can learn about history, art, and culture through performances and get a free health screening, merchandise and more.

Thew event is this Saturday, April 20, from 9:30 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. at the Charlie W. Johnson Stadium.

General Admission is $15.

 

The Blythewood Doko Championship Rodeo rides back into town this weekend.

Gates open at 5 p.m. and the show starts at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow and Saturday on Wilson Boulevard.

It costs $20 for adults and $12 for kids ages 6 to 12.

It’s free for kids 5 and under.

 

Get ready to fill your belly at the Lower Richland Sweet Potato Festival this month.

It’s happening next Saturday, April 27, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Hopkins Park.

The festival begins with a parade and will also include live music, games, carnival rides and much more.

Admission is free.
