Starbucks is giving its plastic cups a makeover
(CNN)– Starbucks has redesigned its plastic cups to be more sustainable.
The new cups look similar to the current ones but they are made with up to 20% less plastic.
Starbucks projects these new cups will keep more than 13-and-a-half million pounds of plastic out of landfills annually.
It’s part of the company’s goal to reduce its carbon output in half by 2030.
The new cups debut at select U.S. and Canada locations this year.
A full rollout is expected by Spring 2025.
