Local middle school celebrates Earth Day by planting trees

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– One local middle school is celebrating Earth Day by planting trees.

Alcorn Middle School’s Student Council is participating in “Neighborhood Forest’s” trees for kids programs.

The program teaches kids about the importance of environmental stewardship through planting trees and watching them grow.

Since 2010, neighborhood forest has partnered with over two thousand schools, libraries, and youth groups.
