Rapid Shelter Columbia celebrates 1 year anniversary

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– A temporary housing facility developed for people experiencing homelessness, celebrating its 1 year anniversary in November.

Rapid Shelter Columbia located on Calhoun Street has 50 pods.

And officials say so far at least 34 people have found permanent housing through the program.

Nearly 50 of its residents have found jobs and more than 40 more have obtained health insurance.
