COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– On Tuesday, April 23, a Midlands school along with three other schools in the Palmetto State was named as 2024 Palmetto’s Finest.

Lexington School District 1 school Meadow Glen Middle School was the school in the Midlands chosen in the Palmetto’s Finest category.

The school which serves over 730 students in grades six through grades eight was opened in 2012.

Each school was presented with an award from someone from the Palmetto’s Finest Committee and the SC Association of School Administrators president.

“The Palmetto’s Finest award winners exemplify innovation across South Carolina. They set the standard of excellence by cultivating vibrant school environments with high expectations and providing numerous opportunities for academic enrichment,” said Beth Phibbs, South Carolina Association of School Administrators (SCASA) executive director.
