Richland One Superintendent gets slimed for good cause

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– There was a sticky situation this morning for Richland One Superintendent Dr. Craig Witherspoon.

Dr.Witherspoon challenged his students from pre-k to eighth grade to read for more than one and a half million minutes.

If they did, he’d let them slime him and of course they rose to the challenge.

Dr.Witherspoon says it’s a bet he was more than willing to pay up on.

The top ten elementary and top ten middle school students were also recognized during the event.
