SCDOT: I-26 Eastbound open as bridge rehabilitation completed early
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– According to the South Carolina Department of Transportation lane closures on Interstate 26 eastbound have been lifted.
The Department of Transportation says the lift is due to construction work on two bridges being completed 12 days ahead of schedule.
On April 15, SCDOT had reduced traffic to one lane in the eastbound direction at mile marker 65 (Indian Creek) in Laurens County and mile marker 83 (Palmetto Trail) in Newberry County.
SCDOT anticipates a similar closure for rehabilitation of the adjacent westbound bridges in 2025.
