Additional details released in shooting of Claflin administrator

Orangeburg, SC (WOLO) — We have learned a few new details surrounding a shooting that injured the Vice President for Student Development and Services at Claflin University. Police say Durant is recovering after being injured after a shooting Wednesday night.

School officials say Dr. Leroy Durant was driving home from a program at Claflin when the shooting occurred after which he said he started feeling dizzy.

He was treated at a local hospital where he was later released after suffering a gunshot wound to the head.
