Sumter Police investigating Sunday shooting after man found shot in road
SUMTER, S.C. (WOLO)– Officers are requesting the public’s help identifying a person or persons in connection with a fatal Sunday shooting, says the department.
On Sunday, April 28, officers were responding to multiple reports of gunfire after 5 p.m. on Carver Street when they found a man shot and lying in the road.
The man was identified as 25-year-old Tijah Mauron Clarkson, of Love Street, who was later pronounced dead at the scene by the Sumter County Coroner’s Office.
Officials say an autopsy is scheduled.
Anybody with information or who saw or heard anything in the Carver Street area before or after the shooting is asked to call the Sumter Police Department at 803-436-2700.
