1 dead after Monday night two-vehicle collision in Orangeburg County
ORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– One person is dead after a Monday night two-vehicle collision in Orangeburg County, says highway patrol.
Master Trooper Mitchell Ridgeway said the collision happened on Monday, April 29 around 9:20 p.m. on Binnicker Bridge Road and Winston Hunt Road, 5 miles north of Orangeburg.
The driver of a 2021 Toyota SUV was traveling west on Binnicker Bridge Road when the vehicle crossed the center line and hit a 2006 GMC Pickup traveling east on Binnicker Bridge Road head-on.
The driver and the passenger of the GMC were both taken to the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) Orangeburg.
The driver later died at the hospital.
The driver of the Toyota was taken to Prisma Health Richland.
The crash is under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Orangeburg County Coroner’s Office.
