Richland One honors hundreds of students awarded as ‘Rising Stars’

Columbia, SC (WOLO) — Richland School District One honored 242 students from elementary, middle and high schools throughout the district during their second annual Rising Stars awards ceremony.

The Richland One ‘Rising Stars’ awards program recognizes students who have demonstrated extraordinary improvement in academics, attendance, behavior, character, community service and overcoming obstacles. Miss South Carolina 2023 Jada M. Samuel served as the speaker for the event.

While the Dreher High School, along with the Hand Middle School Jazz Band serenaded everyone with music.
