Deputies: Community tip leads to hotel drug arrest

Lexington Co., S.C. (WOLO)– Lexington Co. deputies say a tip from the community led to a drug arrest at a motel off of Piney Grove Rd.

According to Sheriff Jay Koon, investigators with Lexington and Richland Counties arrested Vander Mingledolph, 38, as he walked out of the motel.

Deputies say a search of the Mingledolph’s car revealed 150 grams of fentanyl, more than 200 grams of meth, more than 100 grams of cocaine and more than $3,000 in cash.

During the investigation, Sheriff Koon says, investigators learned a man wanted in Richland Co. and a known associate of Mingledolph was also at the hotel.

Jeffrey Myers, 39, was arrested after deputies say a search of his room uncovered fentanyl, crack, and three handguns.

Both men are being held in the Lexington County Detention Center.
