Job openings fall to lowest level in 3 years

(CNN)– Job openings have fallen to the lowest level in three years.

Data released today from the Bureau of Labor Statistics shows U.S. employers had about 8.5 million available jobs in March.

That’s less than economists expected. Right now, there are 1.3 jobs for every job seeker.

That compares to during the pandemic recovery when that ratio was around 2 to 1.

Meanwhile the percent of people quitting their jobs is at the lowest level since August 2020.
