Local Living: City of Columbia’s Touch-A-Truck, May The Fourth Be With You 5k, Black culinary traditions, Rosewood Crawfish Festival

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)–In today’s look at Local Living, the City of Columbia’s Touch-A-Truck event starts tomorrow.
It’s from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. in the 1700 block of Main Street at the Soda City Market.
Several city departments like Columbia Police and Columbia-Richland Fire will have their vehicles on display.
There will also be demonstrations on how certain equipment like a mini-excavator and a bomb disposal robot works.
It’s free to attend.
In honor of Star Wars Day, the South Carolina Philharmonic is hosting a May The Fourth Be With You 5k this Saturday.
It starts at 8 a.m. at Saluda Shoals Park.
The event will end with a concert by SC Philharmonic musicians.
The funds raised at the event go towards SC Phil’s efforts to provide programs to underserved youth, special needs individuals and the community.
The state museum is hosting a special event to honor Black culinary traditions in South Carolina.
Rising culinary artist Amethyst Ganaway will prepare samples and talk about the importance of tradition.
The event takes place Saturday, May 18, from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.
Tickets are $50 for the general public and $40 for members.
The Rosewood Crawfish Festival is coming back to the state fairgrounds this weekend.
It starts tomorrow from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m.
There will be live music, family fun, local art and of course crawfish.
