State Museum Announces 80th Anniversary D-Day Salute Event This June

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– Accessibility Morning at the South Carolina State Museum is returning.

According to museum officials, the free program allows guests who are neurodiverse or have other disabilities to experience the museum at their own pace from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m on Saturday, May 11.

Guests are invited to experience a sensory-friendly show in the museum’s planetarium at 9:45 a.m. and meet character Pete the Cat at 10:30 a.m. for story-time.

An ASL Interpreter will be available during the 9:45 a.m. sensory show and 10:30 a.m. story-time.

General admission to Accessibility Mornings is free for all participants and officials say online registration is highly recommended.
