‘Midlands Gives’ fundraising event starts today

Columbia, SC (WOLO) — It’s that time of the year again! The first Tuesday of May every year Central Carolina Community Foundation brings out an opportunity for you to dust off your inner philanthropist. ‘Midlands Gives’ is back and hundreds of organizations are hoping you can help them celebrate by donating to causes that are close to your heart. During the ‘Early Giving’ period that started April 1st, 2024, more than 600 local non profit organizations brought in more than 3,700 donations totalling more than 1 million dollars.

Tuesday May 7, will kick off the 18 hour online fundraising effort  starting at 6 a.m. Organizers say all of the money donated throughout the day  will go directly to the Midlands based non profits of your choosing. All you have to do, is log onto their website and check out the different organizations that are hoping you will continue to be generous.

Since it’s beginning in 2014,  Midlands Gives has help generate a total of more than $24 million dollars that stays right here in 11 counties in the Midlands to help strengthen and invest in the local community. According to the Central Carolina Community Foundation Website, this year there are more nearly 613 organizations are hoping you will open your heart and wallet to give back to non profits that continue making a huge difference in our neighborhoods with the simple click of a computer mouse.
