SCDOT to shift traffic on US-1 in Lexington County

LEXINGTON, S.C. (WOLO)– Starting tonight, overnight the South Carolina Department of Transportation will shift traffic on US 1 over I-20 in Lexington County as part of the I-20 Interchange Improvement Project.

Anyone traveling overnight can expect to experience temporary lane closures on US 1 and I-20 eastbound while the contractor performs work needed to complete the traffic shift.

SCDOT says as part of the traffic shift, the new I-20 eastbound on-ramp from US 1 will be open.

It is a right-turn only lane, which is accessed from US 1 southbound (traveling from West Columbia toward Lexington).

US 1 northbound traffic will continue to access I-20 eastbound with the existing loop ramp. SCDOT asks drivers to use caution as the motoring public adjusts to the new traffic pattern.
