Some Planters nut products recalled over possible listeria contamination
(CNN)– Two varieties of planters nuts are facing a recall.
The Food and Drug Administration says Hormel Foods has voluntarily recalled Planters peanuts and mixed nuts due to possible contamination with the bacteria that causes Listeria.
The two recalled products four ounce packages of honey roasted peanuts and some cans of lightly-salted mixed nuts were sold in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, North Carolina, and South Carolina.
The peanuts have a ‘best if used by’ date of April 11, 2025.
And the mixed nuts have a ‘best if used by’ date of April 5, 2026.
So far, there are no reported illnesses.
