Bowman UFO Welcome Center destroyed in fire

Bowman, S.C. (WOLO)– One of South Carolina’s more curious tourist destinations is no more.

A spokesperson for the Bowman Fire Department tells ABC Columbia News that crews responded to the UFO Welcome Center at around 7am Thursday.

The cause of fire is unknown at this time and no one was injured.

Jody Pendarvis built the attraction more than 20 years ago.

Since that time it has attracted visitors from across the country.
