Hyundai, Kia topped U.S. auto theft rankings in 2023

HYUNDAI, KIA TOPPED US AUTO THEFT RANKINGS IN '23

(CNN)– Hyundai and Kia vehicles topped U.S. auto theft rankings last year.

According to a report from the National Insurance Crime Bureau, two Hyundai models and one Kia model make up the three most stolen vehicles in 2023.

In all, six of the top 10 most-stolen vehicles were Hyundai and Kia models thieves stole Hyundai Elantra compact cars more than 48 thousand times.

Kia Optima Sedans were stolen more than 30 thousand times.

Those numbers far outstripped the fourth most stolen model, the Chevrolet Silverado 15-hundred pickup, which was stolen roughly 24 thousand times.
