SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– A pedestrian is dead after an early Friday morning collision in Sumter County, says SCHP.

The collision happened around 5:22 a.m. on US-521 near the intersection with Beckwood Road.

State troopers say a Dodge charger was traveling north on US-521 when it hit a pedestrian walking east on the road, near the intersection with Beckwood Road.

The pedestrian was pronounced at the scene due to injuries received during the collision.

South Carolina Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the collision.
