3 men arrested after allegedly attacking person outside Sumter County bar

 

SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Three men have been arrested after allegedly attacking an individual outside of a Sumter County Bar, say Sumter County deputies.

The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office says Robert Alan Jamison, Jerry LaGrande Melton, and Yacov Michael Peters were all arrested and charged with second degree assault and battery.

The men are accused of attacking and badly beating someone outside of the Raven’s Nest Bar in the early morning hours of Monday, May 6.

The victim was treated at Prisma Health Tuomey for multiple injuries including a concussion resulting in temporary loss of consciousness.

Deputies say the night of the incident Jerry LaGrande Melton, who is an employe of the Raven’s Nest Bar and was assigned to work security there.

Also, deputies say after interviewing witnesses and gathering evidence, investigators arrested the three men.

Jamison, Melton, and Peters were taken to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center to await on a bond hearing.
