Midlands grandpa spoiling grandkids after becoming lottery winner

COLUMBIA, S.C.(WOLO)– A Midlands grandpa is going to spoil his grandkids after winning $300,000 while playing the South Carolina Education Lottery, says lottery officials.

The winner bought the ticket earlier in the day from the AMPM Food Mart on Hard Scrabble Road and later that night, he says he scratched off the $300,000 prize and thought he was going to have a heart attack.

He also says he even wondered if he was seeing things, says SC Lottery Officials.

“It was weird and crazy, but it was a wonderful feeling in the end,” he said of the big win.

Two more top prizes of $300,000 remain in the Cash Payout game at odds of 1 in 984,000.
