Man arrested after a deadly shooting at a Columbia gas station

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – Columbia Police have arrested a man for a deadly shooting at a gas station over the weekend.

Police say Joseph Kennedy, 35, is charged with murder & possession of a weapon during a violent crime for the shooting on Sunday.

According to investigators, Kennedy was arguing with 46-year-old Jevon Belton at the EZ Spot on 3213 Farrow Road shortly after 12:30 a.m. when he shot him.

Belton was pronounced dead at a hospital. Kennedy was taken to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
