Columbia Police’s annual Police, Park & Pedal

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– The third annual Police, Parks and Pedal community bicycle initiative kicked off in Columbia on Saturday during National Bicycle Safety Month.

The Columbia Police Foundation and the Columbia Parks & Recreation Foundation partners with Walmart to give bicycles and helmets to select students from South Kilbourne Elementary School and Hand Middle School.

The event ended with a community bicycle rally. Then students were treated to free ice cream from the Columbia Police Department’s Ice Cream Truck.
