Leaphart Elementary students celebrate becoming authors

IRMO, S.C. (WOLO)– There are some gifted young authors in the Midlands.

Monday, 10 students at Leaphart Elementary unveiled their first published book.

Back in October, Author Stan Tucker Brough his “Share Your Story” writing program to the school, walking students through the writing process.

Students worked on their stories for months and ultimately, 10 of them had their work published.

District officials say the books will be available on Amazon soon.
