SC ranked as #1 in nation for military retirees

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– South Carolina is the nation’s best for military retirees.

According to Wallethub.com, South Carolina comes in at #1 in their survey that was based on criteria such as the number of veterans per capita, number of VA facilities and the percentage of homeless veterans.

Wallethub says South Carolina is the best state for military retirees because of the many policies in place to help veterans.

Some of those policies are businesses are allowed to give preferential hiring to veterans, offers academic credit for military service and has veteran treatment courts and more.

The website also says the Palmetto State has the sixth-best job growth rate in the country.
