IRS announces extension of Free File program through 2029
(CNN)– The Internal Revenue Service has extended its Free File Tax Program through 2029.
The agency partnered with several tax preparation companies to offer filing software free for taxpayers.
This year, nearly 3 million people used the program to file returns. That’s a 7.3% increase from last year.
Anyone with an adjusted gross income of 79 thousand or less is eligible.
Those who made more can use the IRS’s free file fillable forms.
