Lexington sweeps Ashley Ridge for 5A baseball state title

On Friday, Lexington baseball edged Ashely Ridge, 3-1, en route to the Class 5A state championship.

The Wildcats swept Ashley Ridge in the best-of-three championship series for the program’s first baseball state title since 2013.

After winning S.C. Athletic Coaches Association Baseball Coach of the Year on Thursday, Brian Hucks would capture his fourth state title. Hucks has won two titles at Lexington and won two while leading the charge at Brookland-Cayce.

Lexington now has six baseball state titles in school history.
