Volkswagen recalls nearly 80K electric vehicles

(CNN)– Volkswagen is voluntarily recalling nearly 80 thousand of its “ID Four” electric sport utility vehicles.

The National Traffic Safety Administration says it’s over display issues and a software malfunction caused the instrument panel to sporadically reset or not boot at all.

As a result, the panel might not display speed or the rearview camera issue, increasing the risk of a crash.

The model years affected are 2021 to 2023.

So far no injuries related to the issue have been reported.
