LEXINGTON, S.C. (WOLO)– Lexington County deputies have arrested a Leesville man accused of domestic violence on Friday morning, says the department.

Daniel Gene Crapps, 28, is charged with domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature, and possession of a weapon during a violent crime, according to arrest warrants.

Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon says, the situation started on Thursday evening at a home on Reedy O. Smith Road in Leesville.

“Based on information deputies gathered at the scene and during interviews, Crapps pushed a household member to the floor and eventually pointed a pistol at the person and threatened to kill them,” says Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon.

Investigators also say Crapps assaulted the person with the pistol.

“Crapps left the scene before deputies arrived and we looked for him throughout the evening, last night and this morning. Our investigation led us to a Leesville home, where we took him into custody,” says Sheriff Koon.

He was taken to the Lexington County Detention Center where he will be held while he awaits a bond hearing.

More charges against Crapps are expected, according to Koon.
