COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– Starting overnight tonight, the South Carolina Department of Transportation will have temporary closures of a section of Interstate I-26 westbound, from just west of the US-1 Interchange to the interchange of I-126 and Bush River Road.

SCDOT says the on-ramp to I-26 westbound from US 378 will also be closed by local law enforcement during each closure.

A total of four separate closures will be needed overnight tonight and into the early morning hours on Saturday, June 1. The first temporary closures start tonight around 10 p.m.

The closures will allow SCDOT to safely transport new bridge beams to the work zone at the new bridge on I-26 westbound over the Saluda River.

SCDOT advises drivers to use caution and plan accordingly in case of delays.
