RC coroner releases name of man killed by tractor trailer following early morning collision
RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Richland County Coroner Naida Rutherford has released the name of the man who was killed by a tractor trailer early Saturday morning.
The collision happened off I-20 near mile marker 79 in Richland County on June 1, around 5:19 a.m.
SC Highway Patrol says the driver was stopped eastbound on I-20 in the roadway after the driver’s GMC ran out of gas.
A 2019 freight liner was traveling eastbound on I-20 also when it hit both the driver who exited the GMC and the GMC.
According to Coroner Rutherford, the victim is identified as Christopher D. Hagan, 38, of Lancaster.
“We will continue working with the South Carolina Highway Patrol to fully investigate this accident”, Coroner Rutherford states.
