Orangeburg partners to host free event, launch new movement
ORANGEBURG, S.C. (WOLO)– Organizations in the community are coming together to hold a free community event, says Serve & Connect.
Serve & Connect, the City of Orangeburg, Orangeburg Department of Public Safety, The Courage Center, Family Solutions, DHEC, MUSC, The Samaritan House, South Carolina State University, Tri-County Commission on Alcohol and Drug Abuse and more are all partnering together to serve the Orangeburg community.
The community event will be celebrating the Orangeburg R.O.S.E. (Raising Orangeburg Seeds of Excellence), which is a movement focused on promoting youth safety and community empowerment.
Officials say the celebration will feature opening remarks from Orangeburg Mayor Michael Butler, Orangeburg Police Chief Charles Austin, Orangeburg City Administrator Sidney Evering, and Serve & Connect CEO Dr. Kassy Alia Ray.
It will also include a resource fair, music, games, and free food on June 7, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at Adden Street Park, 1620 Middleton Street.
