RICHLAND CO., S.C. (WOLO) – Sheriff Leon Lott says the drowning of a 5-year-old in a pool last month has been ruled as accidental.

Deputies say on Sunday, May 26, Capri Robinson, 5, was found unresponsive in the pool area of the Wildewood South Apartments on Sparkleberry Lane.

Deputies tried life-saving measures on Robinson, who was taken to the hospital where they died.

“With summer upon us we have to be vigilant whenever our children are close to a body of water,” said Sheriff Lott. “This is a devastating illustration of how quickly a tragedy can occur.”

Authorities say no charges will be filed and the investigation is closed.
