Alvin S. Glenn to close down juvenile wing
RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– The Richland County council has voted to close the juvenile wing of Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
Officials say the closure will allow the county to improve conditions for adult detainees.
The detention center has been under scrutiny following the reports of violence and structural defects.
The youth offender services conducted at Alvin S. Glenn will now be transferred to the Department of Juvenile Justice.
