Experts find sexually transmitted disease in Cicadas turns them into ‘Zombies’

(AP) — Okay,  the relationship between anchor and viewer is an honest one. Straight forward and to the point so tonight’s “what in the world” story is one that i cannot give any innuendo to or creatively write around so here we go.

Cicadas. We already know they come out every 13 and 17 years. So, a sexually transmitted disease that is said to cause their genitals to fall off has been detected in southern parts of illinois and is spreading throughout the midwest… and making its way toward Chicago, where one woman, Jessica Fillibey says, “zombie cicadas, with no gonads and no one needs that.”

It’s a fungal infection called Massospora Cicadina, and it targets only the 13- and 17-year periodical Cicadas. That said, I hope our relationship is stronger for it. I feel better. And a quick word to Cicada nation, be safe.
