There is a black market of sorts for getting into an establishment. Here’s how it works, fancy shmancy computers gobble up all the desired time slots online and will re-sell them at crazy prices. **not** sites like OpenTable or Resy or anything like that.
There’s a new proposed law in New York that would make sure restaurants won’t have to compete with bots… which really is a win for the hospitality industry. But get this. I looked up a restaurant in Columbia and for next Saturday at 7pm, you can get in for $360! I’m not going to mention which one, because … it’s ridiculous.
