Road closures in downtown Columbia scheduled for Palmetto Boys and Girls State Parade
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– Motorists in Columbia should be aware of several road closures on Friday, June 14, in the downtown area.
The road closures are to accommodate this year’s Palmetto Boys and Girls State parade and rally which will be begin at 10:30 a.m.
The parade will begin at 10:30 a.m. at the intersection of Main Street and Blanding Street and end at the State House.
The rally will begin at 11 a.m. on the State House grounds after the parade.
The Department of Public Safety says the road closures will last from approximately 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Palmetto Boys and Girls State youth leadership event is an annual event that brings around 40 police-escorted buses and a parade through downtown Columbia and ends with a rally at the State House.
