SLED announces plans for K9 Coba’s memorial service

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) has announced the celebration of life of K9 officer Coba who was killed in the line of duty.

Coba was killed on Tuesday, June 11, while helping law enforcement serve a felony warrant.

According to SLED, the memorial will be held on Wednesday, June 19, at 10 a.m. at the S.C. Criminal Justice Academy (5400 Broad River Road, Columbia, S.C., 29212).

Law enforcement officers with K9s are welcomed to take them to the memorial service and is asked to arrive at 9 a.m., says SLED.

There will be a SLED-only ceremonial procession to the S.C. Criminal Justice Academy.

Anyone wanting to send donations or flowers can send them in Coba’s name to The Foundation of Former Agents of SLED – 541 Shadowood Drive, Irmo, S.C 29063.

Sympathy cards can be sent to SLED Special Agent Cole Powell – P.O. Box 21398, Columbia, SC 29221-1398.
