McDonald’s halts AI drive-thru ordering

(CNN)– McDonald’s announced it is pulling the plug on it’s AI powered ordering technology. The problem is, the computer isn’t reliable at recognizing some accents.

It also can’t always distinguishing voices from background noise. Mickey D’s gave it the old college try, rolling out the tech at more than 100 drive-thrus.

It was part of a deal with IBM. The house that Ronald build says it’s still working with the tech giant.

The restaurant hopes it has a better automatic ordering system to try out by the end of this year.
