New board game addresses climate change

(CNN)– On Friday, June 14, the developers of a popular board game released a new version that addresses climate change.

‘Catan: New Energies’ is a twist on the original version, ‘Settlers of Catan’.

The game is based on a real environmental science.

The object of the game: players must choose between renewable energy or fossil-based power plants in its society.

While fossil fuels may allow a player to grow faster, it will create more pollution.

And too much population will cause problems.

‘Catan: New Energies’ has been in development since 2011.
