Driver dies in I-26 wreck near mile marker 129 in Lexington Co.
LEXINGTON CO., S.C. (WOLO) – Highway Patrol says a driver is dead after a collision on I-26 East Tuesday evening.
It happened at approximately 7:05 p.m. near mile marker 129.
According to Master Trooper Gary Miller, the driver of a tractor-trailer slowed down for traffic in the construction zone when the driver of a GMC truck rear-ended the tractor-trailer.
The GMC truck driver died from their injuries while the tractor-trailer driver wasn’t hurt.
The Lexington County Coroner’s Office is working on identifying the victim.
This incident remains under investigation.
