Richland One Board of School Commissioners approves incentives for employees

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Richland One Board of School Commissioners approved incentives for all employees.

The board approved a $2,000 incentive for certified employees and $1,000 for classified employees, according to a post on R1’s Facebook page.

The post also went on to say that over the years Richland One has given incentives to employees as part of the district’s employee retention initiatives and in appreciation to employees for their work.

In some years, incentives have been disbursed as one-time payments and, in other years, incentives have been divided into two payments, one in the spring of the current school year and one in the fall of the following school year.

Unlike in 2023, this year receiving the first half of the incentive is not tied to employees returning contracts (certified employees) or letters of agreement (classified employees), the district states.
