Lexington County woman sentenced to 14 months for wire fraud
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– A Lexington County woman has been sentenced to 14 months in federal prison after pleading guilty to wire fraud, said the Department of Justice.
Keisha Carroll Banks, 52, of Lexington, is accused of using her employment at Ridgeway Manor Health Care in Ridgeway to access money from an Ridgeway Manor account that held funds for the residents at the facility.
Evidence presented in court, showed that Banks diverted some of the funds and used some of the money for her own benefit, said the DOJ.
Some of the residents at Ridgeway Manor are considered vulnerable adults.
A United States district judge sentenced Banks to 14 months in prison which is to be followed by a three-year term of court-ordered supervision.
Banks was also ordered by the court to pay $58,544.61 in restitution.
